You might wonder about the Header image that I put together at the very top of this blog. Is that Heron in flight real? Although it looks a bit cartoony, the answer is yes. With the miracles of Adobe Photoshop I extracted the Heron from one of the photos that I took looking out over the pier in my backyard in Tilghman, MD. I then super-imposed it over a photo of a sunset scene that I took near the tip of the Island and that created the basis for the header image. With our Westerly views, some amazing sunsets can be witnessed from our location and I have quite a collection of images that I have captured over the years.
The Heron is frequently used as a symbol on the Bay and it is very prevelant on Tilghman Island and is the logo for the Tilghman Island Inn.
